Group Piano for Kids, ages 4-6

Beginning piano classes are a wonderful way for young children to learn piano in a group setting. Our classes introduce a solid foundation of keyboard skills, including note-reading, ear-training, ensemble playing, efficient practicing, and healthy and natural hand and body positioning for a lifetime of piano enjoyment. Children learn in a small group setting, maximum of 5 students per section. This class is designed for students with no previous experience. Piano Studies with Charis Dimaras (Manhattan School) and Gretchen Dekker (Peabody School), Chamber Music Studies with Dr. Rebecca Ansel (Univ. Michigan) and masterclasses with Dr. Jennifer Hayghe (Julliard) and Barry Synder (Eastman School). Faculty: Merry Melody Music Academy. Originally from Pennsylvania, Justin is proficient in organ, violin, and guitar. Music Director of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church. Music Therapy training with Mark Lipman and John Buchanan. Justin is proud of the fact that he was pushed by all of his teachers to strive for the best while always remaining true to the musical self. As a result, this is a philosophy he brings to his teaching. As a teacher, Justin looks forward to the relationship that grows during lessons, and values the importance of technique, musicality, and determination.
